The Running Gags
Hailing from Southern Maine, The Running Gags recently put out their debut album, “Yeah, No.” This album consists of 12 tracks that are cemented in alternative rock, but enhanced with flourishes of funk, folk, reggae, jazz and even hip-hop. This family of musicians ranges from a crisp original outfit to an “anything goes” cover band. They’ve also been known to provide wedding receptions for the ages. If you want a party, you want The Running Gags.
The Gags’ sound is most often likened to that of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but with more vocal harmonies and less male nudity. Their influences range from household rock names (Metallica, Coheed & Cambria, Radiohead) to international bands (The Cat Empire, Katzenjammer) to more cultish North American acts (Phish, Tally Hall Moxy Fruvous).
